About Canvas and Pen
Canvas and Pen is a creative space where healing meets creation. It exists for people who would like to process life through art, writing, and reflection, not to fix themselves or to transform on command, but to create enough space to stay present with what is real.
This is a space for expression without pressure, interpretation, or demand. This is a place where creativity is allowed to be quiet, unfinished, and private.
Why this space exists
Canvas and Pen began because art and writing were central to my own healing journey.
When feelings became too heavy to name, drawing allowed me to stay with myself without needing further clarity. When images weren’t enough, writing helped me set things down gently, without forcing meaning or resolution.
I couldn’t find many spaces that treated creativity this way, so I created one. Canvas and Pen offers permission and space to just be.

What guides this work
At the heart of Canvas and Pen is a core belief: Human beings don’t need to be fixed. We need space to exist with love.
Healing here is not treated as a linear process or a destination you can reach with enough dedication and effort. It is understood as cyclical, unfolding through expression, rest, awareness, and return. Your safety matters more than depth. Your choice matters more than insight. You are allowed to stop. Neutral states through this work are valid outcomes.
Creativity is a container, not a performance. Expression does not need to be shared, refined, or understood to be complete.
What happens inside Canvas and Pen
I present to you gentle invitations to explore creativity and yourself. I hope you’ll find healing, or simply a place you can breathe freely.
I offer:
- Writing and art prompts designed to support inner world exploration
- Reflections on healing, creativity, and the inner world
- Writing and art to help you along your journey
- Quiet conversations on creativity, healing, and authenticity
I have no expectations for you to engage deeply, consistently, or publicly. You are welcome to take what supports you and leave the rest.
About me
I’m Rizwana, an Autistic artist and writer who uses creativity as a way to understand and stay connected to my inner experience.
Canvas and Pen is not something I teach from a distance. It is a practice I live inside of. I create here because this is how I learned to remain present with myself through difficult and tender moments, and I share it in the hope that others might find similar permission in their own creative process.
I believe healing often happens quietly, and creativity can be a form of self-care. You don’t need to be pushed toward transformation to be worthy of space.

What this space is not
Canvas and Pen is not therapy, treatment, or diagnosis. It is not about intensity, forced vulnerability, or catharsis.
This space does not ask you to relive traumatic experiences or go deeper than feels safe for you. Avoidance is information from your body, not failure. We respect our body’s signals as authority and use them to help ourselves navigate.
If the expression becomes destabilizing for you, stopping is success.
An invitation
You are welcome to arrive exactly as you are. To engage how you need. To create in whatever capacity you choose.
Canvas and Pen is here to offer you space, not pressure.
If something here helps you feel more connected to yourself, that is enough.
